So I was feeling a little down after the Artist Alley didn't go so well but live goes on, the middle school my mother teaches at had a cultural fair and she volunteered me to draw anime stuff in the Japan room. So I grabbed a couple sketchbooks, some pencils, one of my NewType USAs and wandered over. At first I didn't really want to call attention to myself so I just started doodling, every once in a while someone would happen to stop and say hi, but there was no real interest. Then after lunch this girl who was an anime fan stopped by and started chatting, she asked for a drawing so I said fine and then she asked to join me and I figured why not, so I let her draw in my second pad.
A slight side note before I continue, when you go to a school thinking of all the cool anime stuff you're gonna do and then most of your art teachers look at you like you might be crazy you get a little messed up I believe I learned at school but I think I also unlearned all my anime goals got shoved out cause I was suppose to be learning all this "real" art. So I haven't relaxed and just drawn anime, it's been somewhat of a chore.
But at the fair because I had no real goal and some anime inspiration I drew some nice stuff, like stuff I was really kind of proud of, stuff I was going to come home and scan and put up on my site but after I gave that one girl a drawing I suddenly had a mini flock of kids asking for drawings, I had to boys do eni meani minie moe (sp? does anyone know how to spell that) over one of my drawings. Now I know their in like seventh and eight grade so it's kind of a different world but they really got into it, and it was so nice to do something and have people want it. I actually ended up having to give out stuff I'd done forever ago and was no where near as proud of. It was quite the turn around.
So my new plan is to draw one drawing each day, anime, realistic, doesn't matter, just whatever comes to mind, hopefully to get the creative juices flowing properly, and if all goes according to plan I will upload them all at the end of each week. We'll see what happens
